What do we do with the dry ice in our box of frozen rodents once received?

Please see our Handling Dry Ice article for detailed information.  Please do not handle your dry ice with bare skin.  Keep out of reach of children.

How do I store my frozen rats and frozen mice?

Your frozen rodents will come packaged in a resealable bag allowing you to utilize the amount of frozen rodents you need.  Bags of frozen rats and frozen mice can be stored in a home freezer or a chest style freezer.  Your frozen rodents will maintain freshness for approximately 8-12 months.  We do not recommend re-freezing uneaten frozen rodents.

How are rodents frozen?

Frozen rodents are euthanized by utilizing Carbon Dioxide, CO2.  This method is recommended by the American Veterinary Medical Association and ensures a pain and chemical free method of preparing frozen prey items.  Our frozen rats and frozen mice are flash frozen to eliminate the rodents from being frozen into groups and makes them easier to handle upon removing them from the package.

How do you thaw frozen rodents?

Please see our Thawing Frozen Rodents Guide for more detailed information.

What size frozen rodent do I feed my pet?

All refund requests due to carrier delay will be verified through the carrier before issue of a refund.  Please be sure to familiarize yourself with the size of frozen prey your pet requires before ordering.
